GIC – The Best Place for Experience Sharing in Gamedev

Game Industry Conference (GIC) is a unique event attracting over 3,300 attendees annually, with a strong focus on advanced, practical, and engaging talks. For speakers, it’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase expertise and share knowledge with other game developers.

Scope and Requirements for Talks

  1. Language:
All talks should be delivered in English, except for topics specific to Poland, such as legal or tax-related issues.
  2. Scope:
There are no strict thematic limitations. The key question to answer is:
“Will the audience of game developers benefit from this talk?”
    • Talks may, but do not have to, align with existing tracks. We’re open to creating new tracks if the topic has value.
  3. Experience Level:
    • Talks are classified by attendee experience levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced.
    • We are primarily looking for advanced and specialized topics, as beginner-level content is widely available elsewhere.
  4. The Ideal Talk:
    • Practical: Based on real-world experiences and addressing challenges in game development.
    • Detailed: Offering in-depth insights and actionable takeaways that developers can apply in their own work.

Talk Formats

  • Short Talk: 20 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A.
  • Long Talk: 45 minutes + 10 minutes for Q&A.
  • Other Formats:
    • Panel discussions (by invitation).
    • Roundtables and Ask Us Anything sessions (by invitation).

Submission and Review Process

  • Review System:
GIC uses one of the most advanced review systems, managed by our Advisory Boards. Each submission is assessed by at least three advisors who evaluate its strengths, weaknesses, and suggest improvements.

  • Review Steps:

    • You may be asked to update your submission or respond to reviewers’ questions.
    • You might also need to provide slides in advance.
    • Even if your talk is not accepted, you will always receive constructive feedback.

    • Late-phase submissions (after the deadline) must include slides and face a higher rejection rate.
