In 2018 we held the first Women in Games Breakfast powered by Anshar Studios. As the event was really appreciated, we decided to make it a tradition.
What is Women in Games Breakfast?
By organizing the Women in Games Breakfast annually, we create a chance for all women, both working in game development and exploring career opportunities in this field, to meet and discuss the game industry. In this event, we combine a roundtable and breakfast, creating a comfortable networking space for all attendees. With roundtable and surrounding activities, we aim to empower women in the video industry and want it to serve as a platform for discussion and knowledge-sharing.
This year, we’re planning to discuss the following topics:
- Do you want to learn how to negotiate higher wages?
- How to strengthen your position in the company?
- How to create a better work environment?
- How to boost your self-confidence?
Among various activities aimed to entertain the attendees, there are planned:
- meeting with a psychiatrist about handling difficult situations and taking care of your mental wellness
- meeting with an HR specialist about negotiating wages and strengthening your position in the company
- networking
- live surveys
- giveaways
- and, of course, a delicious breakfast with coffee and snacks!
WiG 2023
Women in Games Breakfast 2023 was a true blessing, both to us as the organizers of the event, and for our attendees.
We can proudly say that the 2023 edition broke the record for the number of our wonderful attendees. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us on Saturday morning and celebrating together the presence of women in the game industry.
We also express our gratitude to Anshar Studios for sponsoring the event and helping us out with pulling it off.
This year’s edition started with a delicious breakfast, little welcome gifts for the first 100 participants, and a short survey. We asked you what it means to “play like a girl”. The results will be analyzed and published on Grajmerki.pl site in a couple of weeks. Moderators of the event – Hanna Marszałkowska, Martyna Neumann, and Natalia Pych – organized an hour of wonderful networking. It ended with a quick giveaway with amazing prizes from various companies. Then, our participants could stay at the main networking table or join one of the two roundtables: the one with our psychology specialist, Nicola Karnas from Try Evidence, or the one with the Head of HR in Anshar Studios, Michalina Daszkiewicz. From what we’ve seen and heard, both roundtables carried on even after the official part of the meeting was finished.
Martyna, Natalia, and Nicola also announced a special survey about women in the Polish game industry. Its results will be used to create the first official report on women in the Polish game industry.
Thank you to all the people and companies who made this event available on such a scale, and well, see you in 2024!
