“Polish invasion” to Nordic Game Jam

This year’s edition DSC_7976of Nordic Game Jam, the largest event of its kind in the world, was held in an exceptionally Polish atmosphere. Thanks to the sponsor – Unity, and organizers of ZTG GameDev Conference, a group of twenty Polish game developers and computer science students came to Copenhagen by small UnityBus  and took part in NGJ. Copenhagen turned out to be a beautiful, welcoming city, and the game jam – a great, perfectly organized and fun to participate event.

The “Polish Invasion”, as it was named by the NGJ participants, was extremely successful in the game jamming competition. Out of 500 participants, there were 20 Poles. But that was enough to rock the finals!  Out of 17 final games, 6 were co-created by the Poles or created by Polish teams. Also the board-games competition was won by a team with a Polish member. And finally Bartek Sieczka and Marek Bączyński took third place with their game “In Space No One Can Hear You Cry”

Short, but full of positive experiences, travel resulted in many new friends, planned  co operations and business contacts. Hopefully this venture will be continued and this new Danish-Polish friendship will bring more and more fantastic games.
